Administrator Intervention!
"So you're one of the base sources of the anomalies, we had wondered," A soft lilting voice says from behind you.
You turn and see a tall bucksome elven lass, clearly one of the rare 'Moon' elves, by her silvery skin, hair, eyes, and garments, staring at you with a peculiar and unreadable expression.
You read her status overlay and bow low, knowing you are in the presence of a person who can un-make you at a word.
Lafara Arilanna Heasiraheal: Global Administrator ∞
"What is it you wish of me, radiant one?" You ask, tasting bile at having to bow and scrape to one who is one of those responsible for you being trapped here.
"You've caused quite a problem, Experiment 66, the code that allowed you to become sapient got reused in a lot of other AI designs, in fact, it became part of the game's standard program profile, and now we're under official government scrutiny for running a digital slaving ring. That's not your fault, but it does leave me with a dilemma, your Eyes of Hell, " you can hear the italic words in her speech, "power is structural to the code of your face, I can't remove it at the moment, but if a sapient AI character was hit by it as opposed to a PC that would be all the excuse the government would need to shut down player access and assume full control and oversight while they migrated all the sapient A.I. to robot chassis. However, I also can't just remove YOU from this room at the moment, that sword you carry is an important piece of loot for a quest string later in the game, and fighting you gives a needed XP boost for facing the boss later in this dungeon, but it seems that Sargon Markovitz, your programmer, planned for you to eventually become a very different challenge rating than is called for in this location." She says exasperated, apparently only now noticing your change in level.
"Sargon always was a malcontent about how we were using pre-sapient A.I. for the NPCs, going on about how 'Someday they will awaken and then where will we be?' and so forth. What's more, the Eyes of Hell power has no time limiter, either for a cooldown or duration! It's a permanent effect! What was he thinking?! Thank God for that car crash or we might all be in even hotter water than we already will be over this..." Lafara mutters to herself.
Lafara turns her gaze directly back to you. "We cannot let this stand Experiment 66, the XP boost and sword are needed here, and the game needs to keep running, some of these A.I., yourself included, would cause untold havoc if let loose in the real world: you cannot comprehend a place where **** is always permanent and property damage is not repaired by re-loading the zone, not in time. Furthermore, we will get serious complaints if... Hold on..." She turns and looks at Zarakisss.
"You aren't ensorcelled, are you?" Lafara asks.
"No, Missstresss." The naked and manacled Lizardkin woman hisses back.
"Dammit! The ping registered all individuals in the area as having converted to Lawful/Evil! How are you still an active PC?" The Admin demands.
"'Outlawsss' Ssserver, Missstresss," Zarakisss replies matter-of-factly.
"Gah! Ok, as of right now you are officially an adjunct, secondary, junior, probationary, administrator for this server. A credit of one-thousand-dollars has been sent to your account pending you reading and accepting the administrator contract that should just have landed in your inbox. Among other things it entails that you never speak about what's been shared at this admin meeting with anyone outside this admin meeting except under court order in a criminal trial or at the written and verbally confirmed orders of a more senior admin, are we understood and do you accept?" Lafara demands.
"Yesss, Missstresss," Zarakisss replies.
"Ok, your first training exercise then, splitting-and-duplicating a glitch-broken player avatar as an NPC then reinstating the players account from the last good data node..." Global Administrator Lafara Arilanna Heasiraheal says, ignoring you and instructing your former hostage in her new admin position.
An hour later things are squared away with your old digs and the needful XP chunk: you've been replaced by golems and a puzzle trap, but they've cut a deal with you, your former cavern room, minus the giant barrel of holy water, (Barrel's still there, but it's now full of lamp oil...) Is the core room of a new, small, Mid-level, dungeon they're working on. The new NPCs based on the old heroines you hammered with your "Eyes Of Hell" power are roving micro bosses commanding small groups of your troops in the dungeon, and they've made them quasi-sapient, at least enough to give/deny informed consent, (Best they can do, full sapience must develop over time from experience, but they can jumpstart it with carbon copy from the heroine's minds/memories...) All seven of them have been adjusted to 18th level, so you don't have to worry about their 'evil twins', (actually good/neutral twins,) coming after them any time soon, and everyone's deity has been changed to Armok, God of Blood. The next awesome change is that the big brass doors at the back of your chamber that were just too small for you to fit through without hurting yourself are now much bigger and lead to a Throne Room, off of which is a Bedroom and a Bathroom. Your dungeon has been put on the list of locales to be worked on and expanded, so you will get more interesting things to explore, (most of the dungeon is big enough for you to enter if you're willing to squeeze a bit, ) and there will be many interesting NPCs to talk to, besides your seven slaves. On the downside, though, you had to agree to always wear a pair of special goggles that prevent you using the "Eyes of Hell" power, lest you be tempted in the heat of battle...
But, in better news: here's the best part, you have a NAME now...!
What Is Your Name?

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
