Horrible goo

You follow Curtiss through several corridors. You walk into an room with an enormous glass tube in the center. It is three quarters full with a black goo.

“Well Wendy, we are seeking to launch a cosmetics line that will make women look and feel sexy. This is our active ingredient.”

He hands you a beaker with a few drops of the goo. It smells awful, like a mix of excrement and rotting meat. You nearly wretch.

“We need this at one percent. As you can see it has some olfactory, textural, and flavor issues.”

“Issues? That stuff is disgusting! Hmm, maybe dissolve it in something, then microencapsulate.”

“That’s why your here Miss Warshaw. Let me show you to your lab. Let me assure you it is state of the art.”

You follow him into a gigantic laboratory. Literally anything you might want is here. The door slides closed behind you and locks.

“Miss Warshaw, we expect you’ll be here twenty four, seven until our little problem is solved. Succeed and not only will you see your daughter, but you’ll find a thoroughly ridiculous bonus in your account.”

“Where do I sleep?”

He points to a little side office. “There is a cot and a hammock in there. There is also a desk with a full service menu. The food is most impressive. There is veal, faux gras, lamb, and an incredible selection of sides. See to it you wear the correct PPE when handling the ingredient.”

“Full hazmat suit? Isn’t that excessive for something going in a personal care product?”

Curtiss laughs. “You can never be too safe. Good luck.”

He exits the lab, leaving you to your thoughts. You don’t like it, but you are going to need to solve their problem.
