Chapter 6 by gunde gunde

Who?

One of the X-men

Diana decided that the X-men would be the group from which she would her partner in the shoot, and this for those reasons:

1: Their need of good press. One should do what one could to help other members of the superhero community.
2: She had experienced little interaction with the X-men over the last years. This could be a good opportunity to make new friends, and that she would be able to do that without the usual element of lethal danger involved was a clear bonus (being social and saving the world at the same time was no small challenge).

Having decided this, Diana waited for the editor to reply; spending the time drawing up new possible garments in one of the designer programmes that she had installed on her computer.

After no more than one hour, a little window at the lower left corner of the screen announced that she had received an email from “[email protected]”.
Diana was pleased to see that Hiller offered no protests against her suggestion, even if Diana suspected that some of the more pragmatic members of his staff had not been too keen on having something as controversial as a mutant posing on their cover.

Killing her computer and getting up from behind her desk, Diana went into her spacious bedroom, where she donned a clean uniform, over which she then dressed in a black business dress consisting of a snug black jacket, a white blouse and a skirt in the same shade of black, the skirt being on the short end of “decent”.
Instead of using the ordinary multi-coloured boots of her uniform, Diana slid her feet into a pair of black shoes and completed her “plain clothes”-look by slinging a small handbag over her shoulder.

Finishing it of by entering the bathroom and applying some tasteful perfume, Diana scrutinized her appearance in the mirror and felt convinced that it would be good enough.

With that, she took the elevator down to the basement and hopped into the grey Audi with tinted windshields, and exited her subterranean garage.
The drive north to the small town of North Salem, where “Xavier’s Institute for Higher Learning” was located, was an uneventful one, and Diana arrived there just as the afternoon was about to turn into evening.

The main gates slid open with a long creak when Diana’s car neared them, and Diana couldn’t help but smile at the thought of how comfortable it must be to be a high-powered telepath.
“Quite, really.” A voice echoed inside her head in response to her last thought.
“Hello Charles.” Diana said out loud inside the car as it slowly passed the gate.
“Hello Diana. It’s a rare but pleasant experience to have you visit us. I’ll be waiting for you in my study. One of my students will greet you at the entrance and bring you there.”
“Alright Charles.”

Diana would have to make sure to keep her mind focused on the business at hand when dealing with Xavier. Even if he was a good man and not one to read the minds of visitors for fun, the sheer level of his telepathic abilities might mean that he accidentally overheard some of her thoughts. And Diana didn’t want to embarrass the man by giving him a glimpse of some of the images that might happen to pop up in her mind when she considered how some of the X-men would look in a tight little bathing suit.

As Charles had said, one of his younger students were waiting by the doors when Diana had parked her car, and the young man (or boy really, he couldn’t be much more than 14, Diana thought) brought her through the mansion to Xavier’s study.
Diana had met none of the proper X-men whilst walking in the mansion, and as the boy had disappeared, she was now alone as she entered the private chamber of Professor Charles Xavier.

The meeting was a short one, not lasting more than a few minutes, and consisted of Diana explaining what the purpose of her visit was, followed by Xavier approving her proposal.
Even if he had been a bit sceptical at first, Xavier had been **** to yield at the **** of Diana’s personality, telling her that if the X-man in question was for it, then he was as well.

After the short meeting was done with, all that was left for Diana was to persuade the mutant which she had singled out for the spread.

Who exactly is it?
