Sara makes a concession to John

John and Sara were getting dressed in their separate rooms. John thought about the fact that Sara could be sitting with his phone right now, and realised that he didn't feel any anxiety about that at all. Roomies didn't sabotage one another: that was all. It occurred to him that he hadn't even thought about going out to get one over Sara, and this made him feel good as well.

John's brow furrowed when he came out to see Sara at the table with his phone. She looked up at him and smiled. "Don't worry. The roomie rule is still in effect. But I was thinking while I was getting dressed, and felt a bit guilty."

"What for?" John said.

Sara smiled sheepishly. "The masturbation rule and the female friend rule. I just checked, and I can't undo it. It doesn't feel right to do that to all men everywhere for the sake of my own fantasies."

"Yeah," John said, "the masturbation rule is a bit inconvenient. Don't worry about the female friend rule though, I think that's strictly a bonus. At least for straight guys," he said. "Besides, I made all women into frustrated horndogs."

"Horndogs?" Sara said, confused. "Oh wait, I see," she added, "I guess I should tell you that the word is 'randypuss' now. Anyway, the whole role-reversal thing feels different. Being turned on is exciting, and you just reversed something that was already happening, when I made a rule that would mostly be humiliating."

John didn't know what to say, and just shrugged.

"Well, anyway, in the interest of no hard feelings, and I guess for my own conscience, I want to give you a freebie rule to make up for the masturbation thing."

John frowned. "Seriously? How will that even work? No sabotaging, right?"

Sara shrugged. "Well, if I agree that the rule is fair, it's hardly sabotage is it? Actually, you might even be able to write any rule that you like, and then you'll only be able to enter it if it's something that I _would _say is fair." She smiled. "You wanna write the last rule before we make everything so we can tell the changes we've made? Make a rule that will take me by surprise? Or do you want me to suggest something?"
