A Lone Scavenger

John, that was what you had always been called. You came from a rather simple upbringing in one of the few patches of civilization in the wasteland. Even today, that upbringing, one of rare privilege, was still evident. Your body lacked signs of scars, bruises, or burns. Your skin was perfectly smooth and quite soft to the touch, ambient radiation had even left you with almost no body hair. Of course, considering your chosen profession, this was all a bit embarrassing.

You were a wandering scavenger, one who specialized in delving into any Pre-War buildings to recover valuable Old World Tech. And while you had done your best to bulk up and prepare for combat scenarios, your smooth form still got you a lot of ridicule. Still, you got paid well for the salvage you could bring in and no matter where in the Wasteland you went, there always seemed to be a new ruin waiting to be picked clean.

Today, for example, you had a great spot picked out, far from civilization yes, but also likely to be a huge cash in. Maybe after that you could afford something besides your normal rations of food and water.

1) An Old World factory on the edge of a heavily nuked city. The signs don't show what it makes, could be clothes, could be toys, could be weapons, but hopefully its worth something. Of course, being in plain sight means you might not be the only scavenger going there.

2) A completely sealed fallout bunker. For all you know it could be completely occupied, but it could also be empty. A lot of the bunkers have weird experiments going on in them and empty or occupied, these experiments are sometimes still running...

3) A Pre-War military laboratory. This is definitely bound to be a good haul, though it is certain that pre-war scientists worked on some pretty weird weapons. Like chemical weapons to reduce inhibitions and super soldier programs with unexpected side effects.
