Chapter 4
by gypsygirl84
What does Tom decide?
Tom approves the use of a reagent, with mundane results
"Well, if the initial analysis isn't predicting anything more than a Type I reaction..." Tom began.
"Right! Thanks, Lieutenant!" Marcos placed a small sample in a 'safe box' as Julie and Tom gathered around it. Tom couldn't help but notice how attractive 21 year old Julie was as he stood beside her. She was a slender but still femininte 5'5", with light brown hair that she kept shoulder length. She brushed an errant lock of the brown hair from her pixie face as she focused on the 'safe box.' Tom guiltily did the same before Julie could catch him 'checking her out.'
Marcos excitedly used a remote to add the reagent to the sample in the 'safe box' (So called because any type of reaction short of a matter-antimatter reaction could be produced in it without any harm befalling observers watching the insides of the box). The reagent caused the purple sample to turn a darker midnight blue, but otherwise caused no other changes.
Marcos sighed. "Well, that was anticlimatic." Just then, Lt. Commander Kagone paged the lab, asking for the assistance of at least one team member. The three looked at each other, and Tom realized the two ensigns were waiting for him to make a decision.
Who does Tom send to help Lt. Commander Kagone?
