Deeper into the cave

With number twelve over his shoulder, Calvo decided to plunge deeper into the cave. He reasoned that the entrance was fairly well concealed, and that there was no doubt a full blown search on for him and the missing guard number twelve by now. Going outside would be paramount to surrendering.

Calvo descended deeper into the cave. A native lichen with bioluminiscent properties lined the cave walls, keeping the cave fairly well lit. After a half hour of walking, the cave opened up into a small cavern. There was more moss on the ground, and a clear pool in the middle. Calvo put the the still **** number twelve on the moss, and availed himself of the pool's water. Calvo did some quick scouting around the cavern. There were two other caves leading from the entrance. One seemed to lead deeper into the mountain. The other seemed to slant upwards.

Just then number twelve moaned in her sleep. Calvo watched to see if she was waking up, but she seemed to drift deeper into sleep. Calvo considered his options:

1) Head back up the way he came

2) Rest up in this small cavern for awhile

3) Head down the cave that seemed to lead deeper into the mountain, or

4) Head down the cave that seemed to slant upwards.
