play a arcade game

Lauren was dragged off with the kids, grumbling and trying to keep her awkward clothes in place. They led her into the arcade.

"What do you want to play?" One of the kids asked Lauren.

"Uh, whatever." Lauren said, not wanting to be doing any of this at all!

"Well, I'm the best at the dance game!" Said one of the girls, probably the oldest of the bunch. Maybe 11, Lauren realized that this girl was taller then her! She felt a little rattled by that observation.

"That's great." Lauren said, rolling her eyes. What did she care?

"Well, how about this," The girl said, stepping up to Lauren. "I bet you I'm better at it then you!" The other kids Ooohed a the declaration.

"I doubt it, but whatever." Lauren said, annoyed with this rather aggresive girl. Lauren had played those same dance step games, back when she was a kid and didn't know any better. She hadn't played one in years, but had little doubt she would loose to a child! She simply wasn't interested though.

"Tell you what, if you're too chicken to just play me... let's have a bet!" The girl kept hounding Lauren, the obvious alpha of the group. Lauren rolled her eyes. Then, she thought of something that sparked her interest.

"Fine. What if I play you... for your clothes?" Lauren asked. The girl looked down at her outfit. Just jeans and a top, but a lot more then Lauren had on! She'd finally have some decent clothing back on!

"Sure!" The girl said. "But, if I win, I get your clothes!"

Lauren just chuckled. How could the kid beat her? She was maybe 12 at the oldest. Lauren was a grown woman of 20. She figured it would be easy work, then she'd get fully dressed and maybe this little brat would learn a humiliating lesson!

They approached the machine. There were two stations, each with pads to step on when they lit up. Each of them stepped on one. Lauren nervously noted her sister and friends were watching. It didn't matter though. It would all be worth it if she got some real clothes!

The girl put in a few quarters and the game started...
