Search the Nursery for Clothes

Lauren needed clothes desperately. She had already run across the yard, scampered up a garden lattice and across the roof completely naked. She had been lucky and hadn't been seen, but felt certain her luck wasn't going to hold if she had to sneak through a house full of guests.

Looking around the old nursery she tried to find something to cover herself with among all the kiddie stuff. It was doubtful that she would find anything suitable she thought and as she crept from cabinet to cabinet though her fears were confirmed. The clothes that remained in the nursery were all for VERY small children. The little tops, skirts, and onesies would never fit her despite her comparatively petite size. Then for the only time ever, Lauren wished she was even smaller than she actually was, Perhaps then something would fit her.

Realizing she was wasting time, that some lost guest looking for the restroom could enter through the unlocked nursery door and see her in all her unclothed glory, Lauren cast aside these idle flights of fantasy and went back to searching the nursery. Opening the toy closet she turned on the light and looked around hoping that maybe there was a robe or something similar hanging in there. Of course there wasn't, but Lauren did spy something interesting.

It was a doll. Not just any doll though. This was a life size doll with curly red hair wearing a silly sailor style dress. Lauren remembered it from some of her stays with her Aunt. She had always found the thing creepy with its glistening glass eyes and ridiculous smile. That and the fact that it had been quite a bit larger than she was at the time had made her cry and for that reason her Aunt had taken it out of the nursery and stored it in the back of this closet. Lauren had completely forgotten about that and the doll until this moment. More importantly, now that she was fully grown, she and the doll were about the same size. She could wear its clothes!
