John tries to convince Holly

“Listen Holly,” John continued, “I don’t belong here! I’m a....”

Holly cut him off. “Don’t say it again Joanie! You’ll be punished every time you say that from now on.”

John thought hard before he spoke. “Alright, I’m not a lesbian then. Never have been.”

“Look, Joanie, I’ve heard it all before. You can continue to deny it, but your ID number designated you as a lesbian. The fact that you’re here says you’re a lesbian. And, let’s face it girl, you’re entire appearance screams lesbian.”

“But I’m NOT! John practically screamed.

“Well, you definitely won’t be when you leave here,” Holly laughed.

As Holly continued read the paper that she held, John thought of ways to convince her of the truth. Then it finally dawned on him.

“Holly, how is your Adam’s apple?,” John asked.

“Silly girl, we don’t HAVE Adam’s apples!”

John smiled slightly. “Then would you mind feeling me throat?”

“If it will finally end this pointless conversation!” Holly stood and walked over to John and gently placed her finger tips on his throat.

Feeling a lump of cartilage where there shouldn’t be one, she jumped back and placed her hands over her mouth, her eyes wide in shock. “Oh. My. God.”

“Told you,” John simply stated. “Now, who do I see about getting out of here?”

A tear care to Holly’s eye. “You don’t. This place is totally automated. No humans work here. How did you end up here?”

John related the entire story to her.

“I’m so sorry this happened to you. But you’re already in the system and on your way to becoming a heterosexual woman. The chip in your arm can’t be removed, ever. And they’ve started you on hormones. Maybe the computer will eventually figure it out, but until then you’re just another lesbian being converted to loving sex with men. You’re in for a very rough time according to this list.”
