Chapter 8 by Glouton L'Gourmand
The fight against them is....
Fucking epic.
They had certainly improved since last time. Far more coordinated, and far deadlier than usual.
The berserker rushes you, his stance full of openings calling at you to exploit them. Not one to miss such an oppurtunity, you charge at him swinging.
He grins.
He ducks.
And you feel a fireball hit you point black in the face.
Thankfully, your face heals automatically to it's former form. The perks of being a program, you suppose. You rub your eyes while batting away the berserker, and check your health.
Health: 912 -> 750
Oh.
Oh.
Your eyes widen, and you gaze at the magician, who is grinning at you.
Before you can contemplate her latent magical strength, you are tackled to the ground by the berse-no. They are far more worthy opponents now. You should treat them as such.
You are tackled to the ground by Victor, as Nike prepares another spell. You can't really see because of Victor trying to pummel your face in with his bare hands.
Health: 750-> 650 -> 500 -> 450
You grab his left arm, pull him in, and throw a strong left straight right into his nose, sending him crashing into the wall, drywall and plaster crumbling around him. You focus on Nike....just as she shoots a healing spell at Victor, before firing a veritable barrage of spells at you. Dodging most of them, and tanking some, you punch her in the face, before kicking her into the counter.
Health: 450 -> 425 -> 400 -> 395-> 375
All of a sudden, you feel a burning pain on your back, and whirl around, fist swinging towards your assailant. Victor had picked up his sword, and slashed you over the back. You punch his neck, partially crushing his airway as he staggers and struggles to breath.
Health: 375 -> *CRIT* 175
An ice spell slams into your back, diverting your attention to Nike as she glares at you, Victor staggering away from you.
Helath: 175 -> 100
Despite this, she looked exhausted, like she had ran a marathon. For a mage, her mana pool must have been super low right now.
She fires the barrage at you, and you slide under some, ducking and jumping your way to her, before backhanding her into the counter again. Grabbing your knife, you use 'Eviscarator' on her, Gula cutting through her flesh like a hot knife through butter. Luckily, it lands, and Nike screams, clutching her side and hastily trying to heal it. She's low on health, and the rest of her mana must have been depleted. Good. That leaves Victor.
Speaking of which, Victor charges at you, swinging and slashing upon seeing Nike get hurt. He slices your counter in half and leaps after you, screaming in righteous hatred.
Absolute Rend.
You can feel your skill boosting your stats, and you dodge in time, blocking blow after blow in his fury-induced barrage. His stamina is beginning to run out, because as he swings, he grows slower and slower, huffing and panting, until he falls to his knees, wheezing in exhaustion.
And yet, his eyes glare at you in defiance, and a sheer iron will.
You pant, too exhausted to finish either of them off. As you contemplate what to do with them, it seems that the game answers your question for you.
*clickclickclick*
You blink, as an oddly-colored panel shows up in front of you.
What does the panel say?

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
