Stand as One

Your mom walks into the room. "Come on girls. Let's get this over with." She says glumly.

You spring up and rush over to her. Instinctively your right hand goes to her belly as your left brings her in for a hug. "How are you doing Mom? It was pretty rough for you last night."

She smiles gently, her left hand coming up to gently hold yours to her stomach. "I'm okay now Jesse. Thank you for putting me to bed, you being there helped a lot." She looks at you with a long soulful look. "Don't be too hard on yourself about last night, okay baby. It wasn't your fault and...and it was about time it came out. No one blames you, okay my girl?" You knew Fiona did but you appreciated the words anyways.

"Thanks Mom." You give her a kiss to her full lips.

Elsie and Chloe had joined you now. You all take a moment together before heading down stairs. As you go Elsie asks. "They pretty angry?"

Your mother looks at her with a worried look. "We haven't talked about IT yet. They wanted to talk to us all together. It made for a mighty awkward morning I can tell you."

As you arrive at the kitchen you see your grandmother and grandfather across the room standing together. At the table sat your aunt. Chloe rushes up to her. "Hey Mum." She gives her a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey sweetie." Peg smiles at her daughter. "Where's your new pussy?"

"Upstairs, I'll show you later. She's a cutey."

"I bet she is."

Fiona stood in the corner, arms crossed and keeping her distance from the rest of you. You give her a smile, she just returns your look blankly.

Before any more small talk or anything can happen your grandmother seizes the moment, taking control of this gathering right off the bat. "Okay. Now tell us." She says in a maternal no nonsense voice. "What is going on with you guys? How bad is it?" Her eyes scan your faces, panning back and forth. Your grandpa is standing back, letting his wife take the lead.

Peggy stands up, being the eldest among you she obviously felt some sort of responsibility. She walks to her sister and they embrace. "Mom, Dad. Helen and I are in love. We've been in love a long, long time." Reaching out Peggy takes Chloe and brings her diminutive daughter in to their embrace. Chloe happily snuggles in between the two of them.

Your mother then speaks. "I'm Chloe's father Mom..."

"Oh my god." Your grandmother brings her hand to her mouth. "Oh my god!"

Her husband reaches up and grips her shoulder supportively. "Let them say their piece Patty." She grips his hand and nods. Despite what she had expected she hadn't been prepared for that.

Your mom says again. "I'm Chloe's father, and I couldn't be more proud." You could see tears in Chloe's eyes as she looked at your mother with open mouthed awe. For the first time in her life the truth about her was being spoken about openly and proudly.

"Aunt Helen?" Chloe looks at her with wide twinkling eyes.

Your mom smiles, tears now in her eyes as well. "I love you so much Chloe. So very much. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you like I should have been. I am so sorry my precious girl."

"I love you too!" Chloe exclaims as she buries her face in her father's bosom. She says again, her voice muffled. "I love you too!"

The three of them hug tightly, Helen and Chloe crying into each other with tears of happiness.

After that display you and El now felt inspired. "And I love Elsie." You state proudly as you take her around the waist.

"And I love Jesse!"

Your grandmother's bad day getting worse by the second. She looks so...so sorry for you. She pitied you deeply. You and El kiss then step over to join the huddled trio in the center of the kitchen, putting your arms around them you press into your mother's side as El presses into Peg.

Your mom looks over her shoulder at you with a proud smile. The truth was just pouring out now. "And...and I am pregnant with Jesse's child." There is a gasp from your grandparents of shock and revulsion. "We're going to be welcoming another beautiful child into our home." You hug her so tight, so happy to be with her in this moment.

"Oh lord, oh my god..." Your grandma was beside herself in despair and disbelief. Your grandpa stoic behind her.

"And it will be a perfectly healthy child thanks to my research." Your aunt adds. The group of you smile and hug. "And she'll be raised in the happiest most loving house possible."

You look over to Fiona and whisper. "Stand with us Fiona. Come be with us."

She looks at you for a long uncertain moment, arms still crossed. She is looking at you closely, her anger and standoffishness doing battle with her connection to her family. In the end there is not contest, her arms come uncrossed and she walks over and joins the family embrace. Right at the back, right in the center. Her head between her mother and aunt's, you and El put you arms around her to hold her close in the group.

Fiona looks to her grandparents. "I'm sorry Grandma, Grandpa. We're degenerates. The whole lot of us. Horrible incestuous degenerates. We've all done it with one another...and we'll continue doing so." Fiona is brought deeper into the hug by Aunt Peg.

With little Chloe in the center and everyone else embraced around her the group of you all look at your grandparents. Your aunt finishes for the group. "It started about the sex, just as a release to help us cope with the secret. But it's become so much more. We love each other. We make love to each other. We know it's wrong. But we'd rather have this than be right." You all squeeze tightly into each other as if to punctuate her point.

Your grandmother's face is in her hand. It was so much worse than she'd expected. So much worse. She was simultaneously shocked, disappointed, horrified, and so many other things. You could see how much of a failure as a parent she felt in that moment. To allow this to happen, at least in the beginning, right under her nose. She was speechless for a long time. You all wait patiently, allowing her time to come to grips will all of this.

Your grandfather however was just staring at the group of you. Looking over your loving happy faces. Seeing you stand together, the undeniable love emanating from your huddled togetherness. You knew he could never approve of what you were doing, but the love on display right now was powerful and precious. A family united in love. This was something truly special. It was warped, it was twisted, it was incurably fucked up...but it was love in its purest form.

He whispers. "Patty...Patty look at them." He steps forward to stand beside his wife, putting his arm around her. "Look at them. Our beautiful girls. Look at them together right now."

Your grandma takes her hand away and looks up at you. As she slowly looks you over you watch as her furious and confused expressions slowly softens. She starts to ask. "Why? Why do you..."

Grandpa squeezes her in his arm and looks to her and with a gentle smile just shakes his head. "It's too late for that."

She looks at him then back to you all, her shoulders loosen as she slumps in defeat. "Yeah, I see that. I see that." As she looks you over she says. "I don't have to like it though. I still can't believe this. I'm still angry at all of you."

Fiona then says, as she peeks over to you with a pretty smile. "You can be angry and still love someone." Your already overflowing heart swells even more.

Your mom then says. "Mom? Dad?" She reaches out for them, the rest of you follow suit. Inviting them to join the big warm family embrace.

Grandpa is smiling from ear to ear but waits for his wife. After a long quiet moment she finally succumbs. The pair of them rush forward and the group of you surround them. You all hold each other on one big loving Bailey embrace.
