Kick out his leg

“Yeah, my dad was a jarhead. And he taught me this.” Rosa reared back and kicked at the man’s ankle. He dropped, all his weight coming down on his kneecap. CRACK

“Oh fuck! You fucking bitch!” He said as he rolled down the incline, clutching his leg.

Rosa jumped up and grabbed her pack. She noticed his pack sitting there as well, and she quickly grabbed it too.

“A Marine makes use of whatever is at hand, even the enemy’s own supply.” She whispered to herself, repeating from the old manual.

Rosa took off as fast as she could safely go. She covered a good amount of ground and dropped to hide and listen. Several tense moments passed. Her heart pounded from the exertion. She didn’t hear the man following her, so she took the chance to open his pack and dump it out.

She found a length of rope, which she quickly tucked into her own pack. A pair of plain panties which she slipped on. Luckily they fit. Better than nothing. She thought. He had a small camera to help the producers film the show. She couldn’t see any need for that so she left it.

And then - Jackpot. He had a map with notes on it. He had marked off areas where he intended to spring traps, and where some of the other male contestants were going to be prowling. This suddenly looked more promising.

Very useful indeed… Rosa thought.

The last item was a small energy bar. Rosa ate it quickly and tucked the wrapper back into his bag. She buried the rest under some rocks so he couldn't follow her trail.

The adrenaline from the fight and flight was starting to wear off, but Rosa recognized roughly where she was. The first safe house was not far away, she could make it before nightfall.
