What does Rosa do?
Stall for time
Rosa looks around for something, anything to keep that thing away from her. Her eyes alight on one of the man’s tattoos, she sees the familiar globe and anchor.
“Wait, you’re a Marine?”
He stops, and follows her eyes to his tattoo.
“Yeah, and what of it?” He asks.
“So was my dad.” Rosa says, stalling for time. “He was infantry, what about you?”
“Your dad was a jarhead, too?” The man asks. Rosa sees a chance to kick out his leg, it would send him down the hill and give her a chance to run. Or should she keep playing out this conversation, see if she can talk him off?
