The Headmistress arrives

You quickly describe the events from Chanel screaming to you returning to your office and finding Rose offering to take the punishment for both of them. Diana listens carefully, her face showing no expression, but her eyes flickering occasionally to Rose.

"So Miss Newton. You are proposing to take the punishment designated in the Code of Conduct for possession of contraband, not just for yourself but for Miss Vallon. Am I correct?"

"Yes ma'am. Chanel has had a terrible shock and I'd like to spare her from more. She's my best friend, and it's as much my fault about the liquor as hers."

"And you already have your panties off because?"

"I wanted to get it over with. I was willing to waive my right to you being here. But Dean Hawkfeather insisted you be here to witness."

"I see," Diana says with a glance at you. "And the penalty for possession of contraband is four strokes of the paddle, which if you're taking the punishment for you and Chanel is eight. Are you resolute in your offer to take both punishments Miss Newton."

"Absolutely certain Ms. Naylor."

Diana looks thoughtful, obvious considering options, her eyes steady. Rose bites her lip, and you can see the slightest quiver in her body as she waits for the Headmistress to speak again.
