The news just keeps on coming

Your aunt reaches over and pats you on the cheek. "We can do it tomorrow my dear. You can take Sunday to recover and I think you should be up and ready to go by Monday." She then adds. "If all goes smoothly."

You were amazed. "That fast? Wow!"

Your mother chimes in. "Is there...any danger?" She asks in a concerned tone.

Peg looks over to her. "Helen, I'd never do anything to hurt Jesse. Listen, this is cutting edge science, there are always risks but...I am pretty confident that the procedure will either work or do nothing at all." She looks at you to reassure you. "It will be okay Jesse. But if you have any doubts..."

You shake your head. "No doubts at all. I want this."

She smiles. "I thought so. It will be okay." She says again. "Besides, if anything goes wrong you'll soon have me around to help you along."

Both she and your mother are beaming as you and El look at each other. It takes a moment but you soon get what she is hinting at.

El says. "Have you around?"

Peg nods. "If it is okay with you guys...I'd like to move in." She looks toward your mother with a gaze of unfiltered affection. Tears sparkle at the corners of her eyes. "It might be twenty five years late but...your mother and I want to be together...at last."

"Ohhh...that's amazing..." Elsie says as she bring her hand to her mouth and gasps, she was so happy for them and so were you. You all come together in a big hug.

"Of course you'll be welcome here!" You exclaim.

"I'll need to talk to Fiona too. I don't want to be a disruption." Peg adds.

"Oh...it will be fine Peggy. Besides, Fiona might not be around too much longer." Your mother says.

Your conversation from the movie night is rattling around in your mind. "I hope she stays...I hope everyone stays..." You look at Aunt Peg. "What about Chloe?"

She is puzzled. "What about her?"

"She can move in too. My room is about to be empty."

Elsie perks up. "That's a great idea!"

Peg is unconvinced. "Er...she has a place of her own and...she's met a guy. They seem pretty serious. Also...she's a handful, you guys really have no idea."

"It just doesn't seem right. All of us here and her out on her own. The Bailey's should be together." You say. "But if she can't or won't I suppose... Can I at least talk to her about it?"

Peg shrugs. "Uh, sure, I guess. I mean it would be her decision."

El backs you up. "Yeah! Chloe can have Jesse's room. It will be tight in here but..."

"Tight?" Your mother laughs. "We'll need a bigger house! What about the baby on the way? We'll need a nursery." She laughs even harder. "And seriously, six women and a baby in a house with two bathrooms? That's not going to work."

Peg looks over to her sister. She was starting to get caught up in you and Elsie's enthusiasm. "Do you want a bigger house Helen? We could easily afford it. We could find a new place together, we could go house shopping. A new home for a new beginning."

The good family feelings fill the room.
