The Note

The next morning you and El wake late. You had been up to the early hours together and had had an exhausting night. After your shared experience from the night before you were closer than ever, you were one. You dress and joke and chat.

You grab the laptop from the desk and unplug the various cords. You were gonna burn the fucking thing. Time to join the 2030's and get rid of this old shit. Together you head down to the kitchen to make some lunch together. As you enter you see a note on the kitchen table. It was in Penny's handwriting.

Mama & Daddy,

I am so sorry for how I acted last night. I took advantage of you and then you shared something very special with me and I betrayed you. I understand now. Please know that I love you both very much and that I am ashamed of what I did. I will make it up to you.

I will call you soon and I'll see you next at Thanksgiving.

Thank you for everything. Please find it in your hearts to forgive me. Please.

You and El look at each other after reading the note.

"We should call her." El says, concerned.

You shake your head. "Let's give her some time. I think she just wasn't ready for everything that happened last night. We kind of went straight to the deep end of the pool. She needs some time to figure stuff out."

"Yeah...yeah you're right." She leans up and kisses you. As she looks at you she starts giggling then chuckling then laughing. It increases until she is actually holding her gut as she howls with hilarity.

You guffaw a bit though you don't know why. "He he he. What? What is it?"

Through tears of laughter she yelps. "Ha ha ha...buy a big strap on to wear...Jesus Christ! Ha ha ha ha ha!"

You start joining in wholeheartedly now. This was 'sister' Elsie laughing right now, the pair of you still had some sibling ribbing in you from time to time. The pair of you share a good heart lifting long laugh. Your home together is filled with laughter and good feelings, cleansing it of the drama from the night before.
