Do you return to your cottage? Or wait to see what happens?
Waiting and watching
You glide silently a short ways down the hallway, finding a window alcove and stepping into it, partially concealing yourself. You are eager to hear Chanel's reaction on seeing your 'gift' and hope that she will return soon. The window is covered by thick floor length curtains, and you pull them shut, standing behind them while leaving a small gap for observation.
Time passes without anything happening. You wait with growing impatience for Chanel and her roommate to return, calculating how long you can risk staying in the building. If discovered it would be nearly impossible to explain your presence, and while you are prepared to roll your balaclava down to conceal your face and flee, you would rather leave without being seen at all. You tell yourself that you will give it another 30 minutes, then leave no matter what.
