Chapter 24
by tsuj
Looking at the fruit, what she saw was...
Opportunity
Trembling, Nami's slowly reached out to take the Devil Fruit from the Game Master's offering hand. He smiled as her slim fingers rolled it into her palm, watching expectantly as it steadily moved towards the delicate skin of her lips...
And then she literally shoved it into his face.
"GOBAHS?!"
Purple juice and broken pieces of fruit splattered against the fat man's face, with more than enough **** to send him tumbling backwards across the floor. He screamed incoherently as he rolled on his back, his hands pawing at his face as if he had been burned with acid. Cursing and spitting, her crawled back to his feet. "Why you cheeky..."
"CYCLONE TEMPO!"
A whirlwind erupted from the middle of the room, blowing away everything in its grasp.
The Game Master stared in shock, not only at the sight of Arlong's large frame being hurled through the air, but at the lone woman standing in the middle of the storm. All of her injuries had disappeared... her clothes that had been ripped and torn now restored... And on top of her fiery hair... was his large black top hat.
"I had been wondering for a while now..." Nami mused, slowly stepping out of her barrier of wind. "All this time, you've been pulling at my memories, doing whatever you wanted with them here and there..."
"SHARK ON DARTS!"
Arlong who had finally found ground, launched himself like a torpedo at her, his pointed nose aimed at her exposed side.
"GUM GUM PISTOL!"
In mid-flight he was interrupted, a rubber fist ramming into his face and sending him plummeting off course into the far-side stand. Standing beside Nami now, was her infamous captain, Straw Hat Luffy.
"This hat is the key, isn't it?" she continued. "Every memory in this room, without some sort of control they'd all just run wild."
The Game Master wasn't having any of this. His entire career... all of his meticulous plans and ambitions... He wouldn't let them all crumble under the hands of a single girl.
"GET HER!" he screamed. Hearing his orders, every villain summoned thus far then charged.
Nami however, didn't budge. "But you've just been pulling everything from my head... Why not anything from yours?"
"WAX WAX ARTS: AXE!"
"SPRING HOPPER!"
"ONIGIRI!"
"ANTI-MANNER KICK COURSE!"
Iron wax met the steel of three swords and a speeding tackle met the black sole of a vertical kick, the images of Pirate Hunter Roronoa Zoro and Black Leg Sanji easily deflecting the oncoming attack to the side.
"This room... this labyrinth is the problem..." Nami walked on, undeterred. Sweat poured down the Game Master's face, his fear growing ever larger as the pirate got closer with every step. "It shouldn't exist..."
"SHEEP CLOUD: TIDAL WAVE!"
"FIRE-BIRD STAR!"
A wave of soapy bubbles was consumed by the flames of a screaming phoenix, and upon their collision the contrasting temperatures released a blanket of fog that swept the room.
"Stop..." begged the Game Master. His feet trembled as he stepped backwards. He had completely lost control over his game. "Don't come any closer!"
Nami's baton cut through the haze, its tip an inch away from his quivering face.
"Keep out of my memories."
With one final declaration, a cannon of pressurized wind then exploded between them. The round man flew high into the air, his eyes white as he lost consciousness. And yet, she still wasn't done. Arms sprouted from his body, folding him backwards with a sickening SNAP. The shadow of a brown furred beast then loomed over him mid-air, and with a swipe of its large hoof planted him firmly into the wall of the ceiling.
Looking up at the broken man, Nami felt no joy from seeing him bloody and beaten. In her dark eyes, there was only pity.
"Disappear, along with your prison."
With one last dip of the black hat, she threw it high into the sky. From around her the memories of her crew erupted into a hurricane of punches, kicks, fire, and gunpowder–like a dragon it danced upwards, devouring both hat and Game Master alike.
"Memory Mirage Tempo."
Outside the ground shook. Eager contestants lining up for a certain game show looked around with panic and confusion as the tremors under their feet steadily grew. The building of said games then began to crack, from its walls to its roof, fissures surged outwards at a frightening pace. And at the center of those expanding cracks... burst through the clouds a storm of dust and debris. The shock wave from the epicenter threw spectators off of their feet, and before their eyes the once grand architecture known as the Replaying Labyrinth collapsed into rubble.
And so...
