"I don't need you lecturing me for something that's not my fault," Anna says. She holds up the shirt in one hand.
May's eyes go wide. She needs that shirt. No one in the school can see her topless; let alone anyone who might see her on the walk through the neighborhood back to her house. She'll be stuck in the bathroom.
Anna pushes May aside and moves beside the toilet. "Nagging doesn't help, May, panicking me doesn't help. Questioning doesn't help me."
"Anna, stop-"
"May, quit telling me what to do!" Snaps Anna. She drops the shirt into the toilet, flushes it, and stands between May and the toilet in one smooth motion. Defiantly, Anna prevents May's attempts to date around her.
May gasps quietly, defeated. She watches over Anna's shoulders as the shirt disappears into the porcelain depths. Hopelessness joins defeat as May realizes she has no way to get out of the bathroom fully clothed.
Tears welling up in her eyes, innocent May looks up at Anna. "Why would you do that to me?"
Anna crosses her arms. That simple act of flushing provided a strange but welcome relief to her stressful day. Now someone else had a worse problem than her.
"You needed to learn a lesson. Don't make me teach you another one." This alpha woman attitude arouses Anna slightly. She likes the feeling of being in charge. Anna turns to leave, opening the stall door.
"What else would you possibly do?" Wailed May to Anna's back. Her tearducts were in full production now. Translucent streams wetted her pale cheeks as she shuddered in the cold bathroom.
