Ride into town

The rest of the trip is quiet, including a handful of sneaky evenings with Anne. You've spent some of the time speaking with the trader's daughter. Her name is the poetic choice of Rose of Sharon, though she usually goes by Rose, or Sharon. "Father used to work as a scribe, but he never liked the work. He always wanted a life of adventure, but look where it got him!" She cried during this conversation. Her father was still very hurt and she was still rather shook up from the whole event, so it was hard making small talk. Nonetheless, she made her gratitude for the rescue abundantly clear, thanking you over and over. "And what is my hero's name?" she asked at one point. That was a tough one, even if it was expected. You couldn't reveal your identity in case enemy spies might find you, but it still hurt to lie to her. "Just call me Siegfried" you told her. Good thing you remembered that old fairy tale.

In a few days you entered the gates of Kolburg, a rather average inland trading city that takes advantage of the river system to support its economy. Your carts plow through the mud and horse manure clogging the busy streets. Peasants and merchants bustle back and forth, going who knows where. "My father and I will be in the Hebrew quarter if you would like to see us before moving on. Just tell the guards Rose of Sharon sent you." You give her a vague promise and part ways, Anne in tow. If you have the time it couldn't hurt, but you may not have that time.

You're going to have to deal with Anne somehow. You could simply turn her in, but unless you intercede (which wouldn't be hard given your rank) she would almost certainly get the **** penalty. You must admit you feel something for the ex-bandit queen. What other options are there though?

And then of course is your true mission: finding Veronica. Benjamin gave you a list of his contacts before you left, including a man here in Kolburg named Andreas. You'll need to speak to him unless you think you can find her while flying blind. Decisions decisions.
