"Who could that be?" Susan says, irritated. "I hope that's a professor. If it's...oh well, better put the robe back over your head, Peregrine."

Susan makes a pass with her wand. "Nan? What could she want?" she says. "She better have a good reason."

It turns out that Nan wants you. She raises her voice to Susan, and Susan flushes pink in the face and raises her voice back at Nan.

It's flattering, you suppose, to be fought over. You've never felt so much like you're the fairest of them all, the figure that launched a thousand ships at Troy, until today. Still, the noisy row is irritating and threatening to become shrill.
