Lunch

A couple minutes before the bell rang signifying the end of the period, Adam, Zack and Brandon were changing back into their regular school clothes after a shower. "You did good today Adam." Brandon said as he tightened his belt around his waist.

"Yeah, you really have a good shot at making the team." Zack agreed.

"Thanks guys!" Adam beamed, all he had done was shoot some hoops and do some drills with the guys, but apparently that was enough to impress them, he just hoped that was enough for the coach who would decide the team. The three friends walked from the gym to the cafeteria where everyone agreed to meet for lunch. Adam thought that this group of friends was especially tight, they didn't stick together constantly, but when they were together, it was obvious how close they were. Adam had to get used to how the group seemed to splinter off and do their own thing, which would make it harder for him to talk with them all together. He decided it would be easier to get to know them all individually or in small groups.

The three boys walked through the café doors and saw their friends sitting at a table near the middle of the room. Adam saw Ashley waving at them, and made his way over to an empty seat at the table between Victoria and a girl he hadn't been introduced to as yet. He guessed by what Brandon had said earlier that the mystery girl was his sister, whose name he couldn't quite remember. What he could tell was that she was quite a looker as well like the rest of his new female friends. She had long brown wavy hair that hung around her shoulders, of what he could see, she had a fit body with a modest bust. She had a pretty face with a pair of light brown eyes that contrasted with her brother's dark brown eyes. She didn't seem to be very tall, or at least not compared to him.

Adam sat in the chair as everyone took out their lunches from their bags, while some excused themselves to go and buy theirs from the server. "So Adam, how was basketball with these guys?" Heather asked pointing in the direction of Brandon and Zack. Brandon was sitting at the end of the table beside his girlfriend Ashley, while Zack sat between Gavin and Chloe across from Adam.

"It was fun. Haven't been up against many people with the skill that they've got." He said. Brandon swatted the air at the compliment while Zack straightened up a little in his seat as his gaze curiously flickered between his girlfriend Lisa, and Victoria.

"Well good, we need something to cheer for as the cheerleading squad, right girls?" Heather said and Adam saw Ashley and Brandon's sister nod their heads. Oh, so they're cheerleaders too? How did this group of friends even come together?

"Is anyone going to introduce me to this giant sitting beside me?" The girl beside him asked as she looked him up and down causing Adam to blush slightly at her obvious scrutiny of his body.

"Madison, this is Adam, he just transferred here for final year, and Adam this is Madison, my twin sister." Brandon introduced them.

"Nice to meet you Madison." Adam said to the girl by his side.

"Nice to meet you to." She smiled at him. How am I supposed to deal with all these girls for a full year?

"Well I've got to go get started on some of that Chemistry homework Mr. Ward gave us." Victoria said after everyone had finished eating and chatting.

"You know what? I think I'll tag along if that's alright with you. We've got around half an hour before last period, might as well get as much done as possible before I get home." Adam said.

"Yeah sure. It's always great to have company." Victoria smiled at him causing his heart rate to speed up. He looked back to see Heather smiling at him as he walked behind Victoria and out of the cafeteria while the rest of his friends slowly got up and went their own ways before inevitably meeting up again in Literature class.
