Suprise Party!

While Lauren was in the bath her front door creaked open. Her mother opened the door and peaked in. Seeing Lauren wasn't around she crept in, tip toeing. She heard splashing and guessed Lauren was in the bath. Perfect! She smiled. Then she motioned behind her. In came Lauren's step father Ray, her sister Vanessa and four of Lauren's 'friends'. In reality none of them were Lauren's friends (Lauren didn't have many), but they were the people her mother thought to be her friends. This included Marvin, the families next door neighbor who'd had a crush on Lauren for years, Ellen, Lauren's junior high play mate Lauren had outgrown, Steve, an ex of Lauren's who Vanessa invited and May, The former captain of the cheer leading squad who was now dating Steve.

Lauren's mother gestured for them to be quiet. She was holding a cake with Happy Birthday written across it. Lauren's mother lit the candles while everyone gathered around. Lauren's mother was ecstatic. They hadn't thrown Lauren a surprise party since she was a child! Her mother expected her to be thrilled.

Suddenly the water began to drain. Everyone waited excitedly. Then, the door cracked open and Lauren stepped out of the bathroom to be greeted by seven unexpected guests.

"SURPRISE!" Everyone yelled.
