Thanking the nurse and leaving you ponder what you will do next. After a good few minutes you smile to yourself and run off to the Viridian forest to look for some more Pokémon to catch and train up, Blue might have gotten a better start but you could definitely play catch-up.
You quickly capture a Pidgey and Caterpie and begin training them up to scratch. After a few hours of slaughtering the wildlife you've got a Metapod and strong Pidgey, your Pikachu is also a good bit stronger, you feel confident in your power as a trainer and go back to the Pokémon centre to heal.
You quickly run back outside and into the route to find a trainer to battle as you need some money to stay the night in the Pokémon centre, so after a good ten minutes of searching for a trainer you see a girl walking along the path, she only has 1 Pokémon and seems a little nervous but her clothes and bag practically scream. "Rich brat."
You quickly run up to her and issue your challenge.
