Miss Fortune

Sarah shifts in her sleep as the smell of her mother cooking breakfast slowly begins to wake her up. The sounds of the rest of her family moving around in the early morning penetrates the thin walls of their home, the early sounds that wake her up early day.

Finally she rolls over and gets up, still groggy, she puts her feet on the cold hardwood floor and tries to open her eyes enough to see. After a few slow seconds roll by Sarah remembers today is the first Monday of her summer vacation.
