Chapter 23 by fyreant fyreant

What's next?

Find the circle of first-years and try to come up with a solution to your problems as a group - when are those 'parties', again?

Rubbing your sore forehead, you decide to go ahead and go in for a bath before you do anything else. Perhaps unsurprisingly, when you get to the Ladies Bathhouse in the Leontes halls, you find that there is an entire line of five other girls waiting for the facilities. One of them is covered in mud, but the other four, like you, have rumbled clothes, blushing cheeks, and the unmistakable odor of sex on them. Among those, one of them - a redhead with a pixie cut and eyeshadow - is keeping her legs clenched together uncomfortably as if she were trying to keep something from dripping out.

You sigh and wave politely to them, but there is no conversation or gossip as you all await your turn. As awkward as the situation was, it made you feel better even before it was your turn to plunge down into a warm bath. Dozens of the witches in training here got themselves into sexual mistakes every day. And it occured to you that, although Albert might still have hurt feelings, in a way, Samara's meanspirited mischief might grant you a certain... promiscuous cachet. That was a sort of thing that a femme fatale did, wasn't it? Maybe this was a sign from fate, that during your first year here at Boarbristle you should really embrace your wild side. You even gave a few of the other 'soiled girls' a wink as you stepped into cleanse yourself... and, because the warm rose-scented water felt so nice, to finish yourself off. You didn't even need spells from your wand this time - thinking about your time with both Albert and Chen was good enough.

Later that afternoon, you fortuitously find some of the same first-years you met on your first weekend having a picnic out by the polo field, far enough away that there was no crowd yet still able to watch (one of the advantages of spectating an airborne sport). That clenches it, you decide; you're going to hold onto the friends you have but become as bad a girl as you can in the libido department. The fierce side of your personality is reasserting itself; the only way you'll ever find lasting love is from a position of strength and that means pushing the limits. You have to be honest with yourself - both of those times, there was a part of you that was VERY excited to be observed while doing something so intimate. It was time to really explore those possibilities...

"Oh, hullo there!" Berthold said to you, waving you over, and Winnie jumped up to give you a hug. Gilbert just gave you a casual wave, his eye wandering onto the field once again - you wondered if he was eyeing the game itself, or some of the ladies playing for the Beavertail and Minerval teams with their short skirts fluttering in the strong breeze.

"Ah! Oh there you are, Fran!" Winnie bounced excitedly on her heels. "Now I've been a good friend an' haven't told these cads a whit about what you've been up to, but c'mon - keepin' such secrets is a stonking *burden*! Go on, make them jealous with some of what you've been getting up to!"

"Oh Winnie, you silly girl," the squat dark-haired Bertie says with a condescending huff. "Enough with that codswallop, it's nothing to dance around. Fran, trust me, we're well aware you went in for a knobbing with that swaggering Draconis arse. It's fine, if I'd fancied you myself I would've made a move! Don't get me wrong, you're a lovely lass, just don't feel the spark, eh? I've had a little bit of guy talk with Gil too, and he feels the same. Sorry, you too Winnie. So if it seems like I'm not bothering to bite my tongue on dirty jokes or rude business, you'll know the reason why."

"Heh, well..." Gil said with a shrug. "I suppose it's a bit like how in every group of kids I was ever a part of, there were always a few girls who were one of the lads, you might say. Didn't mean anything was wrong with them, 'tis just how it shook out. If it makes you feel any better, that Draconis lass I was sharking about the day we first met turned out to be a right bitch. Dumped me like yesterday's rubbish when she met some Beavertail arse-kisser who'd done her homework for her... Bet Fran was a better sport with that fellow from Felice Collier's house that she had a tussle with! Oh, and speaking of which - how did things shake out with Albie? He seemed like a nice chap." Hearing Gilbert's gossip, you idly wonder if this Felice girl is related to Patrique. They do look kind of similar, now that you think about it.

You clear your throat and shrug casually as you sit down, tossing one of your pigtails over the front of your shoulder. "Well. It has been a bumpy ride. I'll spare you some of the details but a Minerval temptress got involved and complicated things, and well, I think I may have messed things up with Albert. My fault really, I feel quite bad about it. In fact... Winona, if you aren't seeing anyone and would not terribly mind helping him get over it, well, it would make me feel better."

Winnie blushes, and Berthold chuckles and gives you a playful poke. "Hah! Oh, she's a good egg isn't she Winnie? What do you think, it's for a good cause..." She rolls her eyes and says something about how she'll consider it.

"In the meantime," you say, sitting on your knees, "there was something else I... may have wanted to ask all of you. Especially since we have all had our experiences now and haven't had any awkward 'hookups' in the few weeks that we have been knowing eachother. But I've had some interaction with the upper classmen and although some of them are not so nice - I would recommend you stay far away from a foreign student by the name of Samara Grover - they also have some very intriguing ideas. Intriguing enough I think I might try some of our own, with your help."

The others all look a bit confused, even cheeky Berthold. "Here now, Fran, don't keep us in suspense. What're you getting at?" the first-year boy asks, putting a hand under his chin thoughtfully.

"In six or seven weeks' time, our first exams will be done with and the whole of the academy will be looking for ways to release their built-up tension - unless they are the purely academic types who want to start on their long term projects already, but anyway! What do you think about helping me... get something together for... I mean, a certain type of party..."

They're all looking at you quizzically still. You blush and give a frustrated little grunt. "Mmph! Oh. Damn it, enough with mincing words. Do you all want to help me organize a sex party?" you ask a little too loud and forcefully. They sit there staring for a minute. Sure, you were all already talking about sex but that was a bit more direct than they were prepared for. "With other students, that is!!" you hasten to add. "A dozen or more if we can manage... and in a place where wizards and witches from the other houses will feel comfortable settling in for a session that will last all night. T-this is... it is all for a good cause, not just hedonism! If we do not get our wildest urges out of our system, we shall never make a long term relationship work! Trust me on this!" you say, wagging your finger as if lecturing.

Are you getting through to them at all...? Berthold will no doubt accept, dog though he is, but the other two, you'll have to see about.

Franziska has 5 XP and may spend them on a character advancement. See Spending XP in the Boarbristle Rules.
