No One Touched the Phone

Josh felt a little silly. His phone was right on the nightstand where he'd left it.

He shook his head and fully dried off. He heard Sara say something from the living room, so he wrapped the towel around his midsection -- fully, this time -- and went into that room.

She was sitting on the couch in a tight midriff-baring V-neck shirt, her hair up in a high ponytail.

"What did you say?" he asked.

She motioned toward the TV. "What is Belgium?" she said, and then, "Watching last night's 'Jeopardy!' on the DVR."

"Not 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'?" Josh joked.

"What with the what?" she asked. "What is Luxembourg?"

Josh looked at the TV screen, where the contestants on the show looked like a busty supermodel in a bodycon minidress, and two male hunks in just vests, collars, and neckties. Presumably pants as well, although the contestants' lower halves were behind podiums and not visible on camera.

"Never mind," he said. "I'm gonna get dressed."

"Hurry up! I'm hungry," Sara told him, and then yelled at the TV, "The Department of Family Planning! Come on!"

Josh shook his head. Okay, so in a world where no one is ugly, probably no one can be famous just for being good-looking, so I guess the Kardashians don't have a TV show...?

He wondered what porn was like in this world, but abandoned that line of thought. In the closet, he found an outfit similar to what he'd just seen on the game show -- discovering that the ties and collars were actually one garment -- plus pants that appeared to be made of some velour material.

Grabbing his wallet and car keys -- and, of course, his now-magical phone -- he slipped on a pair of shoes and went back out to the living room. "You ready?" he asked.

"Just need to put my shoes on and make sure my makeup is okay," she said, grabbing the remote control to turn off the TV. As she got up, she smiled at Josh. "Guess I should have told you -- Ashley said this place was pretty casual. But you look nice."

As she went into the bathroom, she left Josh standing in the living room, with the chance to change some more rules, if he so desired.
