Chapter 4

The waves continue to move...
Nami awoke to the sound of crashing waves. The cold around her wrists brought her attention first to the iron chains that held them together above her head. The smell of wet wood wafted from the floor and the walls around.
It didn't take long before she realized in horror that she was on a boat out at sea. She struggled to break loose, but the metal binding her refused to give.
She breathed, taking the time to assess her current predicament. It seemed only her weapon had been procured, while her clothes and everything else in her possession fortunately remained untouched. With the quiet of the room and the occasional rocking of the vessel, she could also hear a faint snoring from the other side of the nearby door. Her guard, she deduced. Probably with the key to her chains.
Looking up at said chains, the plank that they dangled from seemed worn compared to the rest of the wall.
She could try prying herself loose, but doing so might attract attention to her attempts at escape.
Alternatively, she could forgo stealth altogether and simply call the guard's attention. If she played her cards right, escape would just be a sleight of hand away.
Whatever the decision, she would have to act fast. With each passing second, she was moving farther and farther from her promise at Sabaody Archipelago.
Escape!
