A First Taste

"What exactly did you say that this did again?" Kirche said, suspiciously eyeing the device.

Saito rubbed the back of his head nervously, trying his best to keep his tone casual. "Well, uh, it's kinda hard to explain. You see, in my world we have these things that are a little bit like screens that allow you to see things that are far away without being anywhere near them, through radio signals and satellites up in space and lots of other really complicated stuff. Lots of people have them and they use it to watch stuff like cartoons and dramas and history stuff and..." Saito stopped his rambling as he saw her face change from suspicious to confused.

"Um, anyway, yeah, this is used to control those devices by just pressing the buttons on here while pointing it at it." Saito finished.

"Oh, well that's certainly... interesting." Kirche said, turning back to whip the horses. Saito breathed out a sigh of relief. "Can it control anything else?"

Saito nearly had a heart attack at that and almost dropped the remote. He laughed nervously and took a deep breath. He just needed to calm down. She didn't really have any reason to suspect that the remote was magical, and if he just answered her questions she would drop the issue. "No, no. This is completely useless for anything else. See, all this button would do is change the channel that you're looking at, and--" Saito's eyes widened as he accidentally pressed the button he was pointing to. He looked up at Kirche worriedly, half-expecting to see her turned into a frog or something. To his relief, he couldn't see anything different about her. "So, anyway, you'd probably be better off just forgetting about this stupid old thing."

She didn't respond at first and Saito worried that he might have done something to her after all. "So uh, does that answer all of your questions?" Saito asked.

"About what?" Kirche asked.

Saito blinked. "About the device we found in the cave." Saito replied.

"Oh, that thing? I almost forgot about it. Why would I care about some dusty old relic?" Kirche said.

Saito blinked again, surprised by her 180 degree change in attitude. "But you were just interrogating me about it a second ago. Why the sudden lack of interest?"

Kirche just shrugged and said "I guess I just realized that it was stupid and old and I'd probably be better off just forgetting about it."

"But isn't that what I just..." Saito stopped and looked down at the remote. His finger was still over the button he'd pressed earlier, so he moved it aside to see a button labeld MC.

'Did I do that?' he wondered. There was only one way to find out...

He pointed the remote at Kirche and pressed the button again. Now that he was looking closer, he could see her jaw go slack and her eyes glaze over. He said the first thing that popped into his head. "Un... undo the top two buttons of your uniform."

Life returned to her face and she promptly reached up and undid the top button of her uniform, followed closely by the second. Saito gaped a bit at all of the tantalizing tit-flesh that the simple action revealed, and quickly drew back before it degenerated into full-blown ogling.

Saito stared at the device in his hands, his thoughts racing a mile a minute. But one thought rose above the rest of them and came to the forefront of his mind:

What else can I do with this?
