Try to beat him to the Fleece, or leave him to wander the mountains while you pursue your own goals?
You need to deal with some things first
"What the fuck was that!?" Yang demands, rounding on you while pointing an indignant finger in the direction of your departed peer. "First, you don't get to chose who I talk to or how I do it. That old guy was creepy, but you way overreacted. Second, what the hell was up with those other two? There's no way that guy rates a pair of hotties like that! Third, what's this about a treasure? Start talking, Freyr!" You can tell that she's pretty upset about a number of things, one rattling off of her tongue into the next. In fact, her eyes are starting to flicker from purple to a deeper red. Interesting, if you weren't equally pissed off.
"I'll answer your questions after we deal with the Fell." You reply instead, cutting her off with clipped words and an upheld hand. "You're angry, you don't know whats going on, and there's no time to fix that." You turn to the assembled townsfolk and raise your voice to address them all. "There are more Fell coming, like the ones that attacked you yesterday. Please return to your homes immediately and get ready to fight." A ripple of murmured comments follows your warning, but they begin to disperse, some hurrying to warn the militia while the rest go to take shelter in their homes. You turn back to Yang, only to see the back of her unruly hair as she stalks away. "Yang, we really need to work together!" You snap, not having time to deal with this. She eloquently answers by flipping you the bird over her shoulder, not even looking back. It seems like you'll have to work without her until you can patch things up with her. You tell yourself that she's probably better at taking care of herself than you are right now and go to meet with the militia captain.
"Things are pretty bad." The mustachioed captain begins grimly. "We've only started to rebuild after the last attack, so there are a lot of buildings that are half-way falling down already. Are you sure there's another attack coming? Our scouts haven't reported anything yet..."
"Unfortunately, yes. The Fell are drawn to our power like ants to sugar. I haven't been using mine for that reason, but the other guy just now wasn't as careful. What do you have left as far as guards...?" You begin planning, marking out sections of the town in the dirt and discussing deployments of troops. You also strongly suggest that they lay in as much water as they can hold in buckets and tubs in case fire breaks out. You're confident that you've made the best plans that you can, but things still look pretty grim. The militia are half-trained and a number have deserted to be with their families instead. You can understand the desire to protect your family, but its counter-productive. If things continue the way they are, the defenders of the town will be spread out and **** to being picked off one by one.
To deal with this, you're gathering the civilians up into two large groups and sheltering them in the Barracks and a Bank. These two buildings are both made of heavy stone rather than flimsier materials, and have been built with an eye toward defense already. This will also have the effect of focusing the Fell's attacks on two points, concentrating their forces dangerously but making their likely paths through the town more predictable and concentrating your defenders just as much.
The bell from the watch-tower begins to ring, signaling the arrival of the enemy. You nod grimly to the Militia Captain, who you have learned is named Klaus, and jog off to take your place among the defenders.
How well do your plans hold up?

Pick a god and build a new legend!
Author’s Intent This is a Kingdom Heart’s-esque story to support crossover character interaction. Authors will be free to put together a harem of supporters that suit their tastes. Obviously, the more characters you cram in, the less face time each will get and the more cumbersome the narrative will become. I personally don’t like stories that seek to tear down and female characters, so the intent of this story is to pick a few favorite characters and build them up over time. When you first meet a supporter, they will likely be low level and have some serious personal problems. Your job is to fix all that. Plot will always make for a better story, and generally contributes to interest in the thread as a whole.
