To the array

You follow Tina into what looks like a dark closet. You pull out your cellphone and click the flashlight on. Suddenly you see what Tina is talking about. There is an odd white metal embedded in the foundation floor. It crisscrosses in some elaborate pattern. You realize it is only a small part of a much bigger pattern. How it was activated remains a mystery. How you would even try to shut it off you don't know.

"Tina, what do you about Thomas Farasset?"

"Just what we were taught. He was a brilliant physicist, supposedly even brighter than his contemporaries, Fermi and Einstein. He went crazy and put out a couple of books about the fabric of space and time being malleable, that the devil was real, and how the world would end."

"Maybe if we had those books..." You ponder. "Wait the map!" You pull out the attraction map. "Look on the third floor."

Tina looks at the map. "Old library? Do they mean part of the original house?"

"I think so. Maybe we can find answers there."
