What's up?
Your mother is angry
Flushed, you open the door and trot downstairs.
"I'm here Mom, what's up?" She turns and glares at you, her hands on her hips, her eyes flashing with anger.
"What's up is I got a call from the school saying you cut classes this afternoon, and you missed the detention you were given for being late this morning. Just what the hell is going on Jimmy?"
"Um....sorry...I..."
"So who were you cutting classes to hang out with? Which dumbass buddy was it this time?" She's in full rant, not really listening to you. From experience you know that when she's in this mood there's really no talking to her. You stand listening, an apologetic look on your face, waiting for her anger to cool.
Finally it does, and gives a little stamp of irritation.
"I don't know what to do with you. Go to your room, get out of my sight until I calm down. Go do your homework." You nod another apology and hurry away before she thinks of something else. Up in your room you grab your backpack and pull out your phone to text Ashley before realizing with a groan that you don't have her number.
It doesn't matter.
When you look at your phone there's a text message from a number you don't know. Opening it, your read:
'Sup Jimmy. You cool? Got ur number and wanted to check. Text or call, K?"
