You're angry, and you want an explanation...

Despite Sarah's urging for you to say something in response, no words come to mind, just a rising sense of anger, disbelief and betrayal. After another moment of silence, it's your body that reacts for you.

(SMACK!)

You don't even remember giving your muscles the command to move, but as you blink and you feel your senses fully return to you, you find yourself staring at Sarah who now has her head turned to one side, looking away from you with your hand hovering nearby, her cheek already turning a bright reddish-pink from where you had slapped her.

Another long silence fills the room as you lower your hand back down to rest down by your side on the bed. Sarah remains seated and unmoving on the bed next to you with her head turned and her eyes closed, as if she had been expecting this sort of reaction and had prepared herself for it. Although the discreet, but noticeable clenching of her jaw suggested that the sharp stinging in her cheek hurt more than she was expecting it to.

“...I'm so sorry, Alana... I didn't mean...” Sarah began, but stopped herself. “I'll leave...”

As Sarah moves to climb off of the bed, however, you reach your hand out and grasp firmly at her forearm, stopping her from doing so and drawing her eyes back up to meet yours.

“Tell me what happened,” you say.

“What?” Sarah gives you a confused look.

“I asked you to go tell the man who I thought was my boyfriend that I was okay after I went back to kill the two men who kidnapped and **** me, and nearly died doing it. And you fucked.” You respond, calmly, but with obvious anger and hurt underlying your words as you outline recent...events. “Tell me what happened,” you repeat, releasing your hold of Sarah's arm and letting yourself rest back in the bed again as you await her explanation.
