Sarah returns

As you lie in bed, your thoughts drift to Todd. He must be so worried about you again, and you feel terrible about putting him in this position again. You figure you have to somehow let him know that you are okay.

As you are lost in your thoughts, Sarah enters the room holding your plates. She offers one to you, and then pulls a chair up to your bed. Sarah takes a seat as you start eating the meal she prepared.

"So, Alana, you from around here?"

"Yeah, I was born and raised in the city. You?"

"Same, lived in the area all my life. Where did you get all the firepower?" Sarah pointed across the room where you see your guns lying on a dresser.

"My father was a State Trooper, the shotgun and revolver were his. The pistol belonged to someone else."

"Did it belong to the person that gave you that wound?"

"Yeah..."

"Is he dead?"

You don't answer and Sarah takes your silence to mean yes. You decide to explain yourself before she thinks you are dangerous.

"There were two men and they did terrible things to me. What I did was self-defense. I didn't-"

"I wasn't judging you, Alana. I can't imagine what you went through. I'm sorry I asked, I really shouldn't have. Let's change the subject."

You spend the rest of the meal making small talk with Sarah. You tell each other about your families and what your life was like before the Plague. After you have finished the meal, you decide to ask Sarah for a favor.

"Hey, Sarah, I know I'm in no position to ask for your help, you've already done so much. Hell, you saved my life, but..."

"It's alright, please, just ask."

"Okay. A friend of mine is at my house right now and I'm sure he is worried about me and I just want to let him know that I am alright."

"You want me to tell him?"

"If I knew any other way, I wouldn't be asking you. I'm ****."

Sarah lets out a sigh. She thinks over your suggestion briefly, and then agrees to help you. You thank her profusely and give her your address and tel her how to get there from the main street. She walks over to the dresser and grabs Jack's pistol.

"Just in case," Sarah tells you and tucks the pistol in her waistband. You tell her goodbye and she sets off in search of Todd.
