On a miss, you are interrupted

Suddenly there's a tap on the window and Johnnie nearly chokes you as he jumps in his seat, fumbling to get his shorts up. You realize you have no chance to get dressed in time and scramble into the back seat barely a moment before Johnnie rolls the window down.

"Yes, uh, sheriff?"

The cops? Shit!

"You can't park here. See that sign?"

It's an unmistakably female voice, but one that brooks no argument.

"Oh gosh, I'm so sorry! I got a call and I didn't want to drive while I was on the phone."

Johnnie seems to be a quick thinker at least, not that that would have helped if his dad hadn't sprung for tinted windows.

"Alright. I'll let it slide this once, but next time find a legal place to park, y'hear?"

"Yes, sheriff Williams, I will. Thank you."

They know each other? Shit! If word gets back to your parents... But surely Johnnie won't tell?

You consider what you've seen of him so far and try to picture how long it would take for him to crack if his parents put some pressure on him. Your conclusion is that you'd be lucky if he lasted five minutes.

Johnnie rolls up the window and draws a deep sigh of relief. You stay still in the backseat until you hear Sheriff Williams' car drive past, considering how best to handle this.
