Chapter 6 by IgnusObscuro
Solo her, or wear her down?
Wear her down
She comes alone, and after a quick check you see that she hasn't leveled up yet. You walk back behind the wave of ghosts and hide yourself behind a pillar. The ghosts give you a questioning glance but quickly turn their attention to the tank.
"I wonder where that Dark Mage went. Oh well, someone else must have beaten him."
The ghosts don't have much to fear from the girl, being resistant to physical attacks. They soon have the girls health in the red zone, at which point she uses a health potion.
"These ghosts have got to die sometime!" She exclaims.
You peer out to glance at the battle. No wonder they haven't died yet. She hasn't focused on any one. She just swings her sword around wildly. In fact, they're all just about dead. If she took them on one by one, she'd kill them all in moments.
It isn't long before she starts taking them out. After a couple kills you hear her level up ding ring off. With satisfaction, you cast your illusion spell and walk briskly towards the battle. 15 seconds later she takes out the last ghost, her health almost in the red zone. You fire an attack at her and then run behind, launching another one. You manage to run behind her again before the spell wears off and recast it before she turns around. It doesn't take much more of this before you hear the relieving ding of your level up.
You open up the level up screen and check your stats.
Lv 2-3
HP 20-30
MP 30-45
Atk 1-2
Def 0-1
Mat 4-7
Mdf 3-5
Agi 3-4
Skills:
Illusion: 10 MP Temporarily conceals the user from enemies. Lasts for 5 seconds for every point of the user's Mat minus 1 second for every point of the enemy's Mdf.
Soul crush: 10 MP Temporarily lowers the opponents Mat and Mdf by 50% lasts for the duration of combat.
New Skills:
Dark orb: 5 MP launches a dark orb of power towards the target, dealing twice the damage of a basic attack while taking twice as long to cast.
Finally! You have an offensive spell to cast! Along with your Mat boost you think you might stand a chance against the boss. Not to mention that you finally have a defense stat! Fail and it's back to level one though. Should you stay and grind some more? Or should you challenge the boss?
Which do you choose?

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
