"You're right. Punishment delayed is justice denied. Step over here, wench." She gives a little shudder and suppresses a smile when she hears that word, then walks forward to the side of your desk.

Amanda's mouth is open in shock and she shakes her head as though she's trying to clear it.

"I think I'll be leaving now," she says, starting to back towards the door. You see Meghan give the faintest shake of her head at you, as though begging you to make her friend stay.
