Dinner, and saying goodbyes

Chapter 12 by MahjongHater64 MahjongHater64

"Assalamualaikum... Mom, you back ye—oh." Adam said as he steps in.

"Walaikumussalam, welcome back, akhi." Inaya welcomes her brother in. "Ummi is in the kitchen preparing dinner, oh meet Liam, Kina's friend." She gestured to Liam, her movements are still a bit stiff, but she is trying her best to appear normal.

Liam sat on the sofa, a glass of iced tea on the table in front of him. He had changed back into his clothes, feeling refreshed and energized. The shower had washed away the physical evidence of their activities, but the memory of it, the taste of their skin, and the sound of their moans still lingered, a potent, intoxicating afterglow.

"What's up dude, I'm Adam." Adam extended a friendly hand to Liam.

Liam shook it, his grip firm but not overly aggressive. "I'm Liam. Kina here is introducing me to the restaurant, and... well, one thing led to another, and now I'm having dinner with you and your family." He chuckles, playing the part of a friendly, slightly awkward guest perfectly.

Adam smiled, a genuine, open expression. "Yeah, Kina told me. Welcome, man. Any friend of Kina is a friend of ours." He put his hand on the back of his head kind of awkwardly before continuing, "Hope my mom and sister don't pester you too much."

"Well, if you're home early, you can help us more for dinner." Haifa's gentle but commanding voice comes in from the kitchen.

"Yeah, well, I was helping Kina here, Mom," Adam replied.

"It's alright," Liam chuckles, "They kinda a handful, but it's a welcomed one. I'm happy to help after that free lunch." He adds.

The double meaning of his words was lost on everyone but the two women of the house who were now busying themselves, Haifa returned to her kitchen activity, while Inaya silently set up the dinner table.

"Helping Kina with what?" Inaya asked, her eyes down, her focus on the plates she was arranging.

"Oh just, you know..." Adam trails as he looks at Kina, who gives him a look, a look that's both playful and a little bit 'shut up'.

"Just something I need from around the corner, plus I need to stretch the leg a bit while waiting for you guys to be back." Kina jumps in with an excuse that's both believable and vague, her eyes glinting with mischief. She gives Liam a small, almost imperceptible wink, a silent, conspiratorial acknowledgment.

Liam sees it. And he can't help but be impressed at her, and a part of him feels that it's a good thing to have her as a friend, or more.

The dinner itself was a simple, but hearty affair. Haifa, a whirlwind of domestic energy in her kitchen, had prepared a feast. A rich, fragrant beef rendang, a spicy, tangy sambal, a fresh, crisp vegetable salad, and a plate of fluffy, warm rice. Liam watched as Adam interacted with his mother and sister, a casual, easygoing banter that was both familiar and comfortable. He could see the love and respect in Adam's eyes, the way he looked at Haifa, not just as a mother but as a matriarch, a pillar of their family. To Inaya, too, there is the typical, sometimes exasperated but always loving older brother dynamic. For him, they are a normal family.

But for Liam, he knows the truth. He knows that Haifa, the woman who is now lovingly placing a piece of beef rendang on his plate, is a woman who had just, hours ago, willingly let him defile her, her daughter, and her sacred marital bed. He knows that Inaya, the woman who is now shyly refilling his glass with iced tea, is a woman who had, just hours ago, lost her virginity to him in a frenzy of pleasure and pain, and had then eagerly performed acts with her own mother that would have been unthinkable just a day ago.

Adam has no idea that the women he loves and respects. The women he sees as the embodiment of piety and virtue, are now, in the privacy of their own minds, and in the quiet moments between the tasks of their daily lives, living for a man they just met. A man he's currently sharing a meal with.

With dinner done, Liam and Kina said their goodbyes to the family, Adam thanking them for the meal as a good host. He's a bit confused why Inaya is somewhat quiet and more reserved than usual. The way she avoids looking at him is also a little off-putting, but he chalks it up to her being tired. Haifa, on the other hand, is her usual warm, selfless self, a perfect image of a loving mother and a gracious host.

"Thank you for having me, Aunty Haifa. The food was delicious as always," Liam said as he stood up from the sofa.

"It is my pleasure, Liam. You are always welcome here." Haifa's smile is warm and genuine, but there is a new, deeper meaning to her words. "Please, do come back again soon."

"I will." He smiles, a small, knowing smirk that only she and Inaya, who is now standing beside her mother, can understand. "I will."

"Come on, let's get going." Kina pulls at Liam's arm, a playful, but firm, gesture. "It's getting late, you're driving, by the way."

"Alright, alright." Liam lets her pull him towards the door, his eyes lingering on the mother and daughter. A final, possessive glance, a silent, triumphant farewell.

"Take care Liam... Take care too Kina." Inaya's voice is a soft, shy whisper.
