Sprint the rest of the way to Tyler's SUV and take off before security catches up

North escalators, Westfield Galleria Mall, unknown city, at 3:20 PM on Saturday June 15th, 2024

Your bare feet hit the parking garage concrete the instant the escalator deposits you at the bottom. "Go, go, go!" Tyler shouts, already sprinting toward the rows of parked vehicles.

The SUV accelerates toward the exit ramp. The second guard—younger, athletic build—plants himself in the middle of the ramp with his arms spread wide. At the last second he dives out of the way as Tyler barrels past without slowing.

"Jesus Christ!" Evan yells, gripping the dashboard.

You feel the SUV lurch as it takes the spiral exit ramp too fast, tires squealing on the painted concrete. Then you're out in bright afternoon sunlight, merging into mall traffic. Tyler takes a hard right, then another, putting distance between you and the parking structure.

"Did we lose them?" you ask breathlessly, still crouched low.

Marcus peers out the back window. "No security following. But they definitely got Tyler's license plate."

"Shit," Tyler mutters, but he's grinning. "That was fucking insane."
