"I'm not here to sensationalize or glorify," you reply, meeting Antonio's gaze. "I want to understand the man behind the legend. To tell the story of El Escorpión from a perspective that hasn't been shared before—his own. I believe that the public deserves to know the truth, and I'm willing to dig deep to find it."
Antonio leans back in his chair, stroking his chin. His expression is unreadable, but you can almost feel the gears turning in his head as he assesses your sincerity. After a moment, he nods. "Very well. But remember, Miss Castillo, the truth is often a double-edged sword. One must be careful where they aim it. If your story paints my boss in a terrible light, well I'll be seeing you again. Probably for the last time."
His threat lingers in the air, a subtle warning that sends a chill down your spine. You keep your smile in place, maintaining eye contact. "I assure you, my intentions are to present a fair and balanced picture," you say evenly. "But I can't guarantee the outcome. The truth has a way of revealing itself, no matter the angle."
Antonio's smile sharpens, a glint of challenge in his eye. "We'll see about that." He stands, signaling the end of the meeting. "You'll be taken to your accommodations now. El Escorpión will be ready to see you tomorrow at dawn. Get some rest."
The guard from earlier appears, and with a nod from Antonio, he takes you to a small, well-appointed room. It's clear that while the compound may be a fortress, it's also a prison for those who dare to oppose the cartel's rule. As the door closes behind you, you take in the surroundings—plush bed, gleaming bathroom, a balcony overlooking the jungle. It's a cage dressed in silk, but a cage nonetheless.
You spend the evening preparing for the interview. Your mind is racing with questions and theories, but you **** yourself to stay calm. You review your notes, double-check your equipment, and mentally rehearse your strategy. The clock ticks away, each second a reminder of the danger that lies ahead.
As the top spy in your agency, being dressed and taking transforming pills to become this journalist, Sara Castillo, was a simple task. But the reality of the situation was setting in as you lay in the comfortable yet confining room that night. The walls felt closer, the air thicker with the weight of secrets and the ever-present danger. The plush pillows and silk sheets couldn't erase the memories of the lives lost to El Escorpión's reign. You knew the gravity of this mission—to infiltrate the cartel and expose their operations from the inside.

You put on a cute night gown getting ready to lay down for bed time when you spot the red glare of a camera. It's point directly at the bed. You freeze for a second, your heart racing. The realization that you're being watched sends a chill through you, and you quickly compose yourself. You smile for the unseen audience, then casually cross the room to the balcony. The night air is thick with the scent of jungle foliage, the sounds of insects and distant animal calls creating a cacophony that both soothes and unnerves you. You lean against the railing, taking deep breaths, trying to push the fear back.
