Just about finished checking all of the emails flagged as urgent (why was the microwave issue urgent?), John felt a tap on his back startling him. Turning his chair around, he was surprised to Jane of all people in his public holding two cups of coffee with one extended. "Hey, sorry about earlier John. I should have been nicer to you and wanted to make it up to you. You mentioned being really tired and what cheers someone up more than coffee? Don't know if you like cream or sugar but I threw some into my pocket."

Stunned, this had to be the nicest thing Jane had ever done for any employee in the company on the same level as her John had witnesses. Sure, she'd flirt with her male boss and got more breaks, perks, leniency and luxuries than any other employee but never so nice to him. John was starting to wonder if that letter had been for real. Moments ago he asked her to always be nice to him and now, Jane delivered coffee just because he mentioned not sleeping well.
