North, up the mountain.

You wake a little later than you had intended, the sun is up and the battery powered clock beside the bed claims its just past 10am. You gather your things in a flurry of activity, and chew on the last few slices of jerky for your breakfast as you head out.

Once outside of the little cabin, you spend a few seconds looking around, taking one last look at the place you have called home for the last few weeks. Sighing inwardly, you glance up the mountain in the direction of the lodge.

As you start out, you set a brisk pace, hoping to reach the lodge by nightfall, but within an hour, you realize that its going to take longer than you had hoped to get there. Two days, maybe three.

Staying just inside the treeline for the sense of safety it gives you, you follow the vehicle strewn highway up the mountain. By late afternoon, your thoughts turn to finding shelter for the night.
