Missing avengers

Once you bring the two of you back, you are almost shocked to see Angelica throw herself in the arms of Justice, another Avenger. You vaguely recall reading the two were engaged at one point, and her words about no one else needing to know what happened in Hawaii. Acting inconspicuous, you go mingle with others.

The mansion is really crowded, Captain America called upon several members on reserve to fight the nationwide emergency, and now they were having a small gathering to celebrate. You spot the Wasp and the Scarlet Witch in a group of women chatting, and something tells you they are talking about you. You scurry off.

Captain America is talking with Iron Man, Power man and Falcon. Falcon sees you and gestures you over. "Good that really nothing happened to the two of you. We still have a couple of avengers gone missing. We have a few people surveying the areas, but cant find a trace of them".

"Who?" Your mind goes again to heroism.

"Jessica Drew, the spider woman, in New York" the muscular Power Man answers "and the Red Hulk, Las Vegas team." He looks at Captain America to continue "We believe Jessica saw an opportunity to infiltrate our hidden enemy and took it. Spider Man and the Vision have been looking for signs of her, but no luck. No one saw what happened to the Red Hulk, he disappeared during the fight."

"Can you use your powers?" Tony Stark asks, and you nod. You can feel his sensors capturing data from your body. Tony was one of the leading minds in developing your powers, and one of the friendlier ones too. "Good. We depart immediately"

Pulsar also joins the team. The three depart, and you find yourself the slowest of you. It doesn't matter, you go at your top speed, and a couple of hours later you all reach your destination.

It shames you that you are the only one that needs rest. Tony used additional rocket propellers, while Monica Rambeau just didnt appear tired at all. The black, comely woman was extremely serious and business wise. "I will survey the city first" and disappears. Tony Stark remains next to you, his sensors trying to detect traces of gamma radiation. You eventually adds your efforts to them, trying to detect thoughts that would tell you what happened to the Red Hulk.

You scream.

You had never tried before to read so many minds, and never saw so many pictures of chaos and mayhem. And worst, each mind also seems to be a cauldron of boiling emotions, damaged psyches and secret shames. "Are you okay?" Tony asks you, and it takes long for you to recompose. He helps you up, and guides you into making a slow, careful swipe, not taking too many at once, and resting as you need. Block everything else but an image of a big fucking red dude.

You do see pictures of him. They were fighting a big worm monster, and you see imprinted picture of the Red Hulk yielding a bus against it. Then a limo. Then a McDonald s sign. A little boy has memories of being saved by him, and when he jumped back to re-enter the fray, some sort of ray hit him.

Monica comes back just then, her large sleeves holding wind as you wonder just what is below that black and white uniform. She is positive he wasn't trapped in the debris, and she found the tunnel the giant creature used. "There are signs of tracks down there, some sort of vehicle" She says once she takes you to the entrance. You tell your side, but feels you werent able to add much.

"The Mole Man" you resist the urge not to laugh. The Mole Man was one of the oldest enemies of the fantastic four, some sort of subterranean king ruling over a race of monsters with access to ancient alien technology. He didnt look like a mole, the name came from the fact he was nearly blind, measured barely more than a meter and... well, he did look like a mole, kinda. But Tony Stark looks very serious "Our error ignoring him for so long. We though it would take years before he could rebuild his empire"

"Look out!" You can see the lava coming, tons and tons of burning rock, about to erupt. You project it all in front of you, a powerful freezing blast that you feel drain the kynectic strength of the magma. Pulsar turns into energy again, and she also begins absorbing the heat, and helps disperse it. Iron Man adds his blasts. You three destroy layer after layer of the material, but as you begin to cover it, Iron Man says "No! We need to let it go. Apotheosis, can you build a tunnel to take this out of town?"

You can. You feel like a God. You lift the debris with your telekinetic powers, forming a makeshift tunnel that arcs all the way to the desert. You give them a sign, and the two let the overflow go. You can feel the weight of the world in your shoulders, but you endure it, and in the end save Las Vegas from doom and destruction, and give them a new monument. You collapse.

You wake up in one of the Avengers jet. Iron Man is sitting next to you. He asks how you are feeling, and you are feeling okay. "I never though you would be this powerful, boy." But he doesnt seem afraid, or concerned. Just surprised. "You did good work." His cocky smile has a hint of irony. You think how many times they all saved Earth, and chuckle.

"Where are we going?" you ask

"We are going home. Others are going to Monster Island. It will give us a passage to the Mole's underground kingdom". You nod. You look again at the piloting the plane, and begins to ask Tony "I know you put some limits in my powers..."

"and you already found a way to increase them" he quips

"... is it possible that I am using my telepathy subconsciously? That it reads my mind and makes people act like I wish?" You have been thinking about how lucky you have been in the last 48 hours, and it just didn't make sense.

"No. All your mental powers are in the frontal lobe of your brain, requiring active thought to control. Unlike your flight power, which you can do without thinking." You nod, but have another though "How about pheromones? Can I use them, at all?"

"You could, yes. You have the power to amplify certain substances after injecting them in your blood. Remember how we develop a vaccine to cure AIDS?" You never imagined they were doing that. You just remember the tubes, and hearing complex doctor talk. But that wasn't what you were talking about "I meant daily. Use it to make people angry, or happy at me"

"No. You can't" he sounded pretty sure. "Why?"

"I fear I am... affecting some of my female colleagues" you are bloody happy at how much sex you are having, but want to cover your bases too. He smirks, as a father to his prodigy teenage son "How many?" You lift four fingers.

"You dog" Him joking lightens your mood "I promise, Emma Frost was very careful in designing a number of safeguards and limitations. We followed her suggestions to the letter."

"I almost expected Pulsar to also..." you say to him telepathically, and Tony starts laughing hard. "Impossible. She is a hardcore bitch" he thinks. "In fact, i will give you a Ferrari if you do"

You laugh too, and rest back. Good. This means your small, and growing, collection is all you. Sleep takes you quickly.
