A servant's quarters

This room you have been ushered in to is absolutely tiny. Between all the furnishings packed so tightly there's barely space to take a few steps back and forth. A small bed takes up the third of the space just to the right of the door, with a small shelf along the wall above it, high enough for someone to sit in the bed without risking hitting their head. At the opposite corner from the head of the bed is a small porcelain sink. On the wall above the sink is a small window, with another shelf above it. Next to it, most of the rest of the space is taken up by a large vanity with a massive mirror.

"You can stay in this room for free if you want to take a job here," Louis offers from the doorway.

"I'll consider it," you reply. The accomodations are small but it's not like you have much choice of where you can stay. Besides, this would be free. Maybe asking a few questions could help you decide. "You're offering me a job?"

"It's nothing too crazy. The previous maid left for a new job a few weeks ago, but it's not like there's too much to tidy up each day. The other servants have been making due while short-staffed, but I'd really like to lighten their work load again." His explanation seems very reasonable, but you still can't help but feel that the imbalanced power dynamic between you two puts you at a disadvantage here.
