Find a body.

You have no idea what to do but a city does seem like a smart place to start. Concentrating on the name City of the spire, you try to will yourself to move. It takes some time, but after a while you find yourself suddenly and very rapidly moving across the landscape, granted you can't see anything, but you have a definite awareness of movement. As quickly as it starts it ends and you are once again just there in darkness. Trying the other trick you begin to sense more and more beings all around you, hundreds of them wandering around here and there, who they are and where they are going you have no idea of course, but never the less you can tell that there are people around, enough that you surely are inside of the city.

Not wanting to be eaten, or made to be someones ****, you decide trying to call out for help is probably stupid, and decide to try to find a body on your own, as insane as that sounds.

Sitting, or hovering, or whatever for what seems like hours or even days, hell maybe more you can't really tell, you don't get hungry, or tired, or anything, it all seems to blur together as the misty glow of people and things make their way through the city. As you watch longer and longer you start to notice some additional details, some feel stronger than others, some feel evil somehow, and others good, or holy somehow. Also some of all the types seem to crackle with electricity, and others seem very cold, almost alien or just wrong somehow. Eventually you spot a couple that grow dim then wink out, a faint wispy speck lingers for a few seconds then nothing. One of these times you pounce, but you are to late, the speck suddenly jolts back to full power, but grows cold, it seems these spirits must be the ones that are cold, and when you are right by it, it almost seems to siphon some of your energy out of you, causing you to flee in terror. Finally you spot another and decide it is time to make your move, just as you do you spot several going dim, but which one, one seems to have been evil, another holy, a third one was one that crackled with energy, and the last seemed to be just well normal if that is possible here.
