Marus displays that he is a man of his word. Mira could have said no at any time. However, doing so would insult A’hikoji in more ways than one. Somehow, she came with Marus for a threesome that lasted all night long. She did not know how she felt about that really.

There is very little jealousy in Mira concerning Marus or A’hikoji though Mira helped them rut like animals several times. Moreover, he has continued to make it clear he is never going to give up on her, whether she is his prisoner or not. That kind of devotion compels her to smile warmly into his hairy chest.

In the back of Mira’s mind, she was tempted to whip it around and cut off Marus’s head. That is a small part of her now and mostly just muscle memory and her Id. She has already killed a great number of his incubus offspring during the war.

In the past three months Mira has been broken down, beaten, and then built back up in countless ways. She is nothing like she once was before Marus captured her.

In abundant confusion and turmoil, Mira asks the Sun Goddess A’hiriya for guidance. ‘Marry him.’

The words are spoken very clearly in Mira’s head and she knows who from. How the Goddess could suggest such a thing confounds her further. ‘Attempting to return to what once was always ends in failure. Your time as a Paladin of Light has past.’

After a few moments of silence Mira begins to see what the Goddess is suggesting.

“Who are you talking to love?” Marus’s deep voice resonance from his chest. Mira likes feeling how it vibrates his rib cage.

“A’hiriya” Mira says a little apprehensively but for once Marus chooses to go without chastising her about it. Or maybe she is wrong in expecting Marus to do so at all.

“How can you be a demon and worship A’hikoji?”

“I was cast out of Metradon and the society a long time ago when I was young. It just makes me more powerful though. A’hikoji helps me use and **** other demons for great profit.

“That may seem different from her domains of Hearth, Wine, Ale, Fireplace, Candles, Family, Children, and Motherhood. Most think exactly so. Yet she has shown me how to grow and advance in ways that my brethren find it difficult to challenge me on.”

Mira remembers her many fights with Marus’s incubus progeny, “So you want to replace the incubus children I have killed of yours during the war with my own.” It is more of a statement instead of a question.
