Emma arrives at her first class

Emma arrived at her first class of the day. It was History 101. Everyone had to take classes like this, but Emma was excited to attend. She had always been a good student, but she loved history classes.

Stepping into the auditorium, Emma was startled to see hundreds of students in the room. Emma stood in the doorway momentarily clutching her notebooks to her chest. She had attended a K-12 school in her small town, and there weren't this many students in her entire school. Most of her classes had been no more than ten people. The sight of so many people in this one class startled her.

Shaking off her amazement, Emma looked for a seat apprehensively, hoping to find somewhere to sit without too many other people, but she saw few options.
