Past Security

As Greg and Tiffany placed the bags onto the conveyor belt, Debbie lead Lauren by the hand through the security gate and past the female guard.

"Aww! Well aren't you just a little stinking cutie?" The guard cooed as she bent down to speak to Lauren. "I like your shirt."

"Say thank you to the nice Security Guard, Lauren." Debbie said. When Lauren blushed and looked away in embarrassment, Debbie shook her head. "Lauren, don't be rude!"

"It's okay, Sweetheart." The Security Guard said with a smile, "You don't have to be shy. I'm a mommy, too. My little Sophie is around your age."

That got Lauren's attention as the little woman spun back around to face the guard with wide eyes. This Security Guard wasn't implying what Lauren thought she was, was she?

The same question running through her mind out of curiosity, Debbie said, "This is my niece, actually, and she'll be staying with us for a while. But thank you. By the way, how old is your daughter?"

"She just turned six last week."

At the innocent reply, Lauren turned a shade of red that had never been seen in nature before. This woman thought she was that young?! That was impossible!

Tiffany and Greg desperately fought back their laughter as they stepped forward, walking through the gate and collecting the bags on the other side as Debbie chuckled and pulled the mortified Lauren along. Standing back up as Tiffany and Greg walked by, The Security Guard looked to her left and saw another bag still on the other side of the gate.

"Excuse me, Ma'am. Sir." The guard said to the two eighteen year old cousins. "You left a bag over there."

Tiffany and Greg looked to where the woman was pointing and saw that Lauren's bag was still on the other side. They looked towards one another and gave a knowing smirk.

"Sorry, Ma'am. That's not one of ours." Tiffany said as she and Greg turned and ran after their mother and Lauren.
