You cannot resist the lure of the guild website, and over the next weeks perform many little tasks as requested. At first you stick to deliveries and errands, but eventually get more brave.

The first rather exciting adventure is to clean the apartment of a young woman about your age. She greets you at the door wearing jeans and a cropped t-shirt.

"Strip, please!"

Despite the fact that this had been one of the agreed upon rules of the job, you cannot help blush to strip down to your chastity cage (also part of the rules). She manages to appear completely disinterested in your naked form and sets you to work.

After about an hour of her directing you to clean various parts, she slaps you hard on your bare bottom, causing you to get a rather painful partial erection in your cage, which she again pretends not to notice.

A couple hours later she sends you off.

By now your gilt balance has grown respectably, and you begin to wonder how best to use this "wealth."

One woman on the site offers "Therapy from a femdom perspective," and you pay for a session more out of curiosity than anything else.

She has a normal office with the proverbial couch for you to sit on and talk--all very reassuring, except that she requires you to be naked doing it.

"It is part of the process to become comfortable being naked and **** in the presence of superior women," she smiles.

You tell her about various times in your youth when you encountered the idea of female dominance, and she listens attentively.

Finally, you ask her about one thing that has been bothering you.

"I'm really glad to have been invited into the guild, but it seems so 'transactional'--everything is buying and selling...I don't know."

She does not seem offended.

"You have to understand that you are very new to our community. Of course at first we are learning whether you are going to fit in and what your role might be. But if you start meeting people and forming relationships, it will change. Most of my clients are in long term relationships with other guild members, and those aren't transactional at all."

"You mean dominance and submission-type relationships?"

"Those are one kind, but there are many others--genders-swapping, exhibitionists, people wanting many partners...you name it."

You feel a bit relieved.

"Or, of course, you can become a Guild servant."

"I'm sorry?"

"Well, some of the members take a contract with the guild itself. The guild provides food, lodging, everything you need. In return, you agree to serve at guild functions and offer your services to other guild members."

"Forever?"

"Only if you wish--I think many of the servants serve for three or four years. Usually by that time their gilt accounts are large enough to support them if they wish to quit."

"Support them?"

"Gilt is quite valuable because the guild has been investing for centuries. Most people stay involved for life, but if you tire of us after a few years, your account will support you to go live as you wish elsewhere..."

She has given you a good deal to consider.
